Programme Leader
Dr Gail Busby
Programme Director - Write to Publish
Clinical Background
Dr Gail Busby has been a consultant gynaecologist for 13 years and a doctor for 26 years. She qualified in Trinidad in 1996, then underwent specialist training in the Northwest of England and obtained her Fellowship of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRCOG).
As a lifespan gynaecologist, Dr Busby sees patients of all ages from birth through to the menopause. Her special interest is Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology — she started, and still leads, the tertiary referral service in Manchester for this subspecialty. She is an experienced and talented hysteroscopic surgeon with a keen interest in new innovations in the field.

Education & Publishing
With a deep commitment to education, Dr Busby holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education. She is also dedicated to patient education and hosts a health podcast entitled I Forgot to Ask the Doctor, aimed at educating patients about health conditions across the spectrum of medicine.
Her combination of clinical expertise, teaching qualification, and passion for making complex information accessible makes her ideally placed to lead the Write to Publish programme — helping clinicians at every career stage develop the skills to write work that gets published.

"I started this programme because I've seen too many clinicians with genuinely publishable work stall — not because they lack clinical insight, but because nobody showed them the framework. That's what Write to Publish is for."

Professor K. Ray Chaudhuri
Faculty — Write to Publish
Academic & Clinical Career
Professor K. Ray Chaudhuri is an internationally recognised neurologist, academic leader, and one of the most prolific medical authors in his field — with over 500 peer-reviewed publications to his name. With more than three decades of experience in clinical research, global collaboration, and scientific leadership, he brings an unparalleled depth of knowledge to the Write to Publish programme.
Publishing Expertise
Professor Chaudhuri's contribution to Write to Publish draws on practical, insider knowledge of how high-impact papers are written, structured, submitted, and successfully published. From developing a strong research question to navigating the peer review process, his modules offer real-world strategies drawn from a distinguished academic career spanning hundreds of publications across major journals.
His perspective is particularly valuable for learners aiming beyond their first publication — those who want to understand what separates competent manuscripts from papers that achieve genuine academic impact.

"Publishing well is a skill that can be taught. I have spent decades learning what editors look for, how reviewers think, and why strong clinical work sometimes fails on paper. This programme distils that experience into something practical."
